Robert Wingert, clarinetist with he American Sinfonietta, received his musical education at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Indiana University, and the Academy of Music in Vienna where he studied with Alfred Prinz. A past principal clarinetist with the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and conductor of the Santa Fe Community Orchestra and the Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Wingate now resides in Seattle where he is a free lance artist dividing his time between performances with the Seattle Symphony and conducting music workshops in the US, the Czech Republic, and Italy. 

Previous affiliations as a clarinetist include the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Fe Opera, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Southwest German Radio in Baden-Baden.
