Erik
Peterson has been a member of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra since 1991
and currently holds the position of Assistant Concertmaster. He performs
chamber music throughout Colorado with The
Denali Ensemble, which Erik co-founded in 1998. Erik is also the Artistic
Director of the Chintimini Chamber
Music Festival in Corvallis, Oregon.
Erik received his Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Iowa while studying with Leapold LaFosse. His teachers have included Andres Cardenes at the University of Michigan and Camilla Wicks at Rice University. Erik has been a violinist with the Toledo Symphony, Principal Second Violin of the Des Moines Metro Opera, Assistant Concertmaster of the Toledo Opera, and Concertmaster of the Great Falls Symphony. When not performing in the orchestral setting, Erik keeps an active schedule of appearances as chamber musician, soloist and recitalist. He is an avid teacher in Denver and has spent time teaching in Steamboat springs, Corvallis, Houston, and Great Falls |
