Nancy Luttrell , Violin (Associate Concertmaster)


Associate Concertmaster of The American Sinfonietta since 1991, Nancy Luttrell is also Associate Concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony and, Associate Professor at Wichita State University. In 1999 she received the WSU College of Fine Arts Excellence in Teaching Award.

A member of the Fairmount String Quartet and the Wiedemann Trio at Wichita State University, she has also been a member of the Monet Trio, the Kansas City Lyric Opera and the Kansas City Civic Ballet Orchestras. She has served as concertmaster of the Vienna Conducting Symposium Orchestra, Assistant Concertmaster of the Eastern Music Festival, and the Arkansas Music Festival Orchestras, and Associate Concertmaster of the Wintergreen Music Festival Orchestra.

A former first prize winner of the prestigious "Naftzger Young Artist Competition", Ms. Luttrell received a scholarship from the St. Louis Symphony to attend the Aspen Music Festival through competitive competition. Nancy received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Wichita State University. Her former teachers include Everett Fetter, James Ceasar, Tiberius Klausner, and Eudice Shaperio.

She regularly tours throughout Europe with the American Sinfonietta and has toured with the Wichita State University Symphony Orchestra during its recent European tour.
