Thomas
Heinrich, a graduate of the Eastman School and the Cleveland Institute
of Music, made his solo debut with the Vermont Symphony at age sixteen.
Mr. Heinrich has also appeared with the "Up Close" and "Musical
Chamber Orchestra" of the Colorado Symphony, the Chebucto Symphony,
and with Janos Starker and the American Sinfonietta performing the Vivaldi
Double Cello Concerto. His performances have been broadcast across North
America on CBC radio's "Chamber Music at Noon" and on National
Public Radio's "Performance Today."
Mr. Heinrich is principal cellist of the American Sinfonietta and a
member of the Colorado Symphony. He has also served as principal of
the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony
and the Banff Opera Orchestra, and as assistant principal under Leonard
Bernstein for the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra. As a chamber musician,
Mr. Heinrich has collaborated with Ida Kavafian, Jesse Levine, David
Krakauer, Elmar Oliviera, Eiji Oue, David Hickman, the Cavani Quartet,
and members of the New York New Music Ensemble. He is a member of the
Colorado Chamber Players and a founding member of The
Denali Ensemble.
Also very interested in contemporary music, Mr. Heinrich has worked
with composers John Deak, Phillip Glass, R. Murray Schafer, and David
Felder. Mr. Heinrich has recorded for the Summit, Koch, and EMF recording
labels in both chamber and orchestral settings.
