Ms.
Forscher began her musical studies at the age of eleven. She later went
on to study at the Interlochen Arts Academy and received her Bachelor
of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Teri has performed at the Interlochen Arts Camp, Blossom Music Festival, and the Round Top Institute. She was principal flutist of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, where she was featured as soloist. "...principal flutist, Teri Forscher, who walked away with some of the best work of the evening." remarked Nancy England of the Oak Ridger, in review of the Knoxville Symphony's final 2001 season concert . She has also performed with the Charleston Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, and American Sinfonietta. Ms. Forscher has played under such renowned conductors as Leonard Slatkin, Louis Lane, Robert Spano, Michael Palmer, and Robert Shaw. She has been awarded the Interlochen Arts Academy Fine Arts Award, the Blossom Music Festival Maurice Sharp Award, and performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a 1994 Presidential Scholar in the Arts. As a student at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Teri won a Level One Award at the Arts Recognition and Talent Search Competition. As a founding member of the Juniper Wind Quintet, she won prizes at the Darius Milhaud Competition and Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Ms. Forscher has studied with Joshua Smith, Christina Smith, Tyra Gilb, and Warren Little. Teri Forscher currently resides in the Atlanta area, where she is active as a teacher, orchestral musician, chamber musician, and soloist. |
